Title: Soliloquy: A Three-Tier Model perspective

Abstract: Language is recognized as an instrument of communication and thought. While the research exploring the former is enormous, exploration of the latter is scant. Studies of soliloquy provide valuable data for the examination of how linguistic structures differ between communicative and non-communicative (cognitive) settings. This talk examines soliloquy in Japanese and English, employing the Three-Tier Model.
